The Knysna Oyster Festival
The Knysna Oyster Festival is a 10 day annual festival every July in the popular tourist town of Knysna on the Western Cape's Garden Route.With a programme filled with some of South Africa's best entertainment, parties, indoor and outdoor events, food and wine experiences and sporting highlights, it is unsurprising that the Knysna Oyster Festival is one of the most popular festivals on the Western Cape's calendar.

Destination Knysna
Knysna, where all of the excitement of this festival takes place, is a located along the N2 national road, 25 kilometres (15.5 miles) west of Plettenberg Bay. The town is built along the northern shore of a large warm-water estuary that passes through two large headlands known as the Knysna Heads before opening out into the ocean.
Two Huge Sporting Events
Today the festival is combined with two of South Africa's biggest sporting events; the Pick n Pay Cape Times Forest Marathon and Half Marathon, and the Pick n Pay Argus Rotary Cycle Tour, calling even more people to its banks.
