Day 1: Mossel Bay, Western Cape, South Africa
Your Garden Route vacation will start with your guide collecting you in Cape Town. Then you drive along the coast through Hermanus to get to the southern tip of Africa. Depending on the time you might be lucky enough to stop for Whale watching. Whale viewing comes in season between July and November.
From there your guide will take you through the back roads to enjoy a unique hand drawn point river crossing. Once you reach the coastal town of Mossel Bay you can enjoy some of the sights and stay in one of the lovely seaside hotels.
Day 2: Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa
Drive up through a spectacular pass with fynbos vistas to Oudtshoorn and visit the wildlife sanctuary. Travel back to the coast through another scenic pass to the beautiful town of Knysna in the heart of the Garden Route. Enjoy your first evening in Knysna with some rest and preparing yourself for tomorrow's adventures on your Garden Route vacation.
Day 3: Knysna, Western Cape South Africa
Enjoy a unique tour across the estuary with a 4x4 drive to some spectacular viewing sites of the Knysna Heads. After lunch you can participate in a Tree Top Ride in the indigenous forests. Enjoy some interaction with the mighty but gentle African Elephant. You will be hosted in a 5 star luxury lodge, where the rooms are built in the trees.
Day 4: Patensie, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Drive over a pass from the coast into the arid Karoo and through the awesome Baviaans Kloof. The route is a 4x4 trail which winds through the mountains and valleys, crossing rivers into the Eastern Cape Bushveld. Accommodation will be provided at a citrus farm near the town of Patensie.
Day 5: Addo Elephant National Park, Port Elizabeth, South Africa
Today you depart Patensie and head for the Addo Elephant Nature Park, well know for Elephant and other wildlife. Drive through this unique park (home to the Big Seven). This includes Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo, Rhino, Whale and the Great White Shark. You arrive in Port Elizabeth in the late afternoon.
