Day 1: Cedarberg, Western Cape, South Africa
Drive through wheat growing areas of the Western Cape and into the Cedarberg mountain area. Here you will enjoy lunch, a game drive and view San paintings. This Garden Route package includes all accommodation. Tonight you will be accommodated at a private game resort.
Day 2: Cedarberg / Karoo, Western Cape, South Africa
You go on a drive through the vast Cedarberg Mountain Reserve and visit awesome and inspiring caves. Then drive on through to the Kouebokkeveld Mountains and into the Karoo biome. You stay overnight at a famous private game reserve.
Day 3: Sutherland, Northern Cape, South Africa
Enjoy a game drive where 4 of the Big Five can be spotted. After lunch, you go on a drive through the Ceres Karoo Valley and up into the Roggeveld Mountains. You stay overnight in Sutherland which is situated plus/minus 1500m above sea level. Spend the evening on a star gazing tour (weather permitting).
Day 4: Little Karoo, Western Cape, South Africa
Do a tour of the Observatory and marvel at the size and magnificence of the S.A.L.T. telescope - which is powerful enough to see a candle on the moon. This experience is one of the many highlights on this Garden Route package. After the tour, travel through the vast Nama-Karoo Biome into the Little Karoo to enjoy the evening game drive at a private game reserve and stay overnight.
Day 5: Oudtshoorn, Western Cape, South Africa
Drive through the Little Karoo to the town of Oudtshoorn and do a tour of the world famous Cango Caves. You stay overnight at a quiet citrus farm.
Day 6: Patensie, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Drive through the majestic Baviaanskloof which encompasses many incredible ravines and river crossings on a 4x4 road from the Karoo to the Eastern Cape Bushveld to overnight near the picturesque town of Patensie.
Day 7: Addo Elephant Park, Eastern Cape, South Africa
Drive through the Addo Elephant Park looking for any of the Big Five - Elephant, Lion, Rhino, Buffalo and Leopard. Of course there are many species of antelope and other little species of game which are very interesting to learn about. You go on an exciting evening game drive and spend the night at a private game lodge.
Day 8: Shamwari Private Game Reserve, Eastern Cape, South Africa
After the morning game drive, you will be taken into the world famous Shamwari Private Game Reserve for some exceptional game viewing and lunch. You get to spend the night at a luxury game lodge.
Day 9: Storms River, Western Cape, South Africa
After an early morning game drive, you drive through the Forest Biome to Storms River and experience a Canopy Tour - gliding through the tree tops at plus/minus 40 metres above the ground. There is an overnight at a unique hotel where the units have been built into the trees.
Day 10: Mossel Bay, Western Cape, South Africa
Travel along the Garden Route to the town of Knysna which is situated on a tidal lagoon. Then enjoy a trip on a ferry across the lagoon, where you can see the beautiful flora of the area. From there the tour will move along the Garden Route to the seaside town of Mossel Bay. You stay in a hotel overlooking the bay.
Day 11: Hermanus, Western Cape, South Africa
Drive through the wheat growing areas and visit the Southern tip of Africa. Accommodation will be offered at a private nature reserve near Hermanus where you can enjoy some of the best Whale watching in the world. This is applicable if you go on the tour between June and November.
Day 12: Depart
Your last activity is an informative tour of the Cape Floral Kingdom and lunch. From there your guide will take you on a leisurely drive back to Cape Town along the scenic Cape coast.
